Each year, the Mid-Peninsula Boys & Girls Club holds several special events to bring together our community supporters to raise funds for our clubs and recognize members of our clubs and local citizens. Our annual special events include (follow links for more details):
- Anniversary Dinner & Auction – Each year, we honor a “Citizen of the Year” and “Youth of the Year” for their distinguished contributions to the community. This year’s event “Let the Magic Begin” will be Friday, October 17, 2008, at the Crowne Plaza in Foster City, honoring “Citizen of the Year” California State Assembly Member Gene Mullin and “Youth of the Year” Eddy Aquino.” In addition to the gala dinner, we also hold a silent & live auction that offers great deals on getaway weekends, hotel stays, restaurant gift certificates, sports memorabilia, and much more! Various sponsorship opportunities are available, including corporate, table, and advertising sponsorships. Auction item donations are also greatly appreciated.

- “Laws of Life” Essay Contest & “All District High School Senior Class Awards” Banquet – Our Tuesday, May 6, 2008, banquet honored 75 of our best and brightest high school seniors, as well as the award-winning writers of our “Laws of Life” essay contest. Deadline and Banquet for next year’s “Laws of Life” essay contest, open to private and public high schools in the San Mateo Union High School District, will be in the Spring 2009. We will again honor and recognize the award-winners, teachers, school administration, and sponsors that make these contests possible. Various sponsorship opportunities are available, including corporate, table, and advertising sponsorships.
- Annual Golf Tournament – Our annual golf tournament presents a unique opportunity to give back to the community while enjoying a round of golf. The tournament is held at the beautiful Crystal Springs Golf Course, which sits on a ridge overlooking 27,000 acres of protected forest with pristine vistas of the Crystal Springs Reservoir and the coastal range. More than 150 golfers, volunteers, sponsors, and donors contributed to a successful tournament this year on Saturday, July 19, 2008.
- Next year’s tournament is scheduled for Saturday, July 28, 2009. We always welcome new golf participants. Various sponsorship opportunities are also available, including corporate, hole, and advertising sponsorships.
