“Laws of Life” Essay Contest & “All District High School Senior Class Awards” Banquet

Scheduled for May 2009 our “Laws of Life” Essay Contest is a character-education program that gives young people at Junipero Serra High School, Mercy High School, and the schools in the San Mateo Union High School District the unique opportunity to reflect on and write about values and ethics that they believe will help them live successful and productive lives. “Laws of Life” are the core values and ideals by which we live. They are universal laws such as love, service, honesty, respect and courage –that transcend religions, cultures and national borders.

The “All District High School Senior Class Awards” Contest was established in 1995 by the Rotary Club of San Mateo Sunrise to recognize the leadership & accomplishments of 75 outstanding high school seniors in the San Mateo Union High School District and at Junipero Serra High School and Mercy High School.
