Members ranging from 6th-8th grade were given the opportunity to disassemble and reassemble a Dyson vacuum head. The purpose of this activity was to have the youth think like engineers and think about the various aspects that go into making a vacuum head that will successfully do the job it was intended for. Some members were overeager and wanted to go further in taking apart the vacuum head which showed their genuine curiosity about how things are put together and what their function is. This activity had our members learn which parts of the vacuum head were responsible for suction, rotation and power and left our members with the wonder of what other household items they could learn more about just removing a few screws and seeing what was underneath.
Special Thanks to @Dyson for allowing our members to have this exciting learning experience.
