The Mid-Peninsula Boys & Girls Club (MPBGC) was recently awarded a $41,000 grant by Bridgestone Retail Operations (BSRO) for the purchase of a new van to serve its members. The “Driving Great Futures” grant will allow the MPBGC to obtain a new 2019 Toyota Sienna passenger van.
Earlier this year, MPBGC youth development and resource development staff worked together to apply for the “Driving Great Futures” grant. Members from MPBGC took a tour of the local Bridgestone store and staff put together a video of the trip and provided details about how a van grant would benefit the youth MPBGC serves for BSRO’s consideration.
"I was thrilled to find out that we won a Driving Great Futures grant," says Evan Jones, Executive Director of the Mid-Peninsula Boys & Girls Club. "Because of the grant, we now can transport an additional 40+ young people to and from the Club each day. We're really excited to transport more Club members to field trips, sporting activities, and college tours to improve their Club experience."
The new van is equipped with Bridgestone Ecopia tires, which provide trusted all season performance and are engineered for fuel efficiency. Tires are the only part of a vehicle that come into contact with the road and it will give the Club staff and parents peace of mind to know that we have a reliable van supported by best-in-class tires from Bridgestone.
About Bridgestone Retail Operations (BSRO): Bridgestone Retail Operations has a long history of giving back to communities with a vision of being the most trusted provider of tire and automotive care in every neighborhood they serve.
