In 2018 the Mid–Peninsula Boys & Girls Club & 49ers PREP Flag Football commenced by offering first-class youth sports opportunities to boys and girls across the Peninsula at no cost to families. The program is underwritten by the 49ers Foundation.
49ers PREP Flag Football is run by community-based organizations including Police Activities Leagues (PALs) and Boys & Girls Clubs in conjunction with 49ers PREP and will be committed to harnessing football to educate and empower Bay Area youth. 49ers PREP presented by U.S. Bank provides all the necessary equipment and structure to make teams run smoothly.
In August 2018, Mid-Peninsula Boys & Girls Club celebrated their first year by participating in a half-time show scrimmage at the Levi Stadium.
"This was the first time I have been away from my family and the first time on a plan. I was scared out of my mind when Coach told us, "The only time it's okay to get scared is when the captain is", but that made me feel better. Before this season I only played Basketball. With the support of my coaches, I really enjoyed playing football and will stay play flag football in the summer and will help with our PREP program. In the fall, I will start my freshmen year at San Mateo High school and I look forward to playing Tackle Football. Thank you to Coach Chris and Miguel for making it easy to love football."

"This game is so quick! Playing flag football is the perfect way to get ready for the fall where I will play my last year of tackle football before going to high school. One of things I will take back is learning how to break down and not over pursue to hold my ground and protect my zone coverage. I would like to thank my family, coach and the 49ers Foundation for allowing me to represent my home."
